hmmm... I had a reply here already... weird...
it went something like this:
I used Eudora from like 1997 to 2004, then switched to Thunderbird for cross-platform goodness.
I really like the idea of Outlook (tight calendar+contacts, ties into lots of other things for groupware scheduling) but don't like being tied to MS, not to mention all the security issues Outlook has... I really wish there was a viable Outlook alternative (and don't give me Sunbird, it's alpha and so buggy it's unusable) with cross platform support, and maybe, just maybe, some kind of open standard to make it easy to port information from your desktop to your palm, to your phone, to your ipod, and back again... ical, save us!

this is a new improved version of an earlier poll to which you replied. Now you can choose multiple answers whereas before you were forced to pick only one answer.

I use Outlook in work and I use a Palm Pilot to sync my work Outlook with my home Outlook. It's' good for keeping track of my contacts and calenders. I use Thunderbird for my regular mail and I have a g-mail account for other stuff.

yes, i did this before. I use Web Page Based now, I made the switch about 2 years ago from Eudora which is a great program for email.
